With our own family on board, including our kids handing out chocolates to everyone, we set off bright and early for the coastal town of Whitby. The sun was shining, the sky was clear and there was a crisp freshness in the air.
We made our way through the North Yorkshire countryside, and when we arrived in Whitby our passengers headed off to enjoy everything the town has to offer, from the historic Abbey to the busy harbour.
Many travellers climbed the famous 199 steps to St Mary’s Church and the Abbey ruins for the views over the town and out to sea. Others strolled along the beach and treated themselves to fish and chips from one of Whitby’s chippies.
As a family, we love to support small businesses, and it was great to see so many passengers browsing Whitby’s independent shops and cafés, from traditional sweet shops to handmade jewellery stalls. Some picked up a piece of Whitby jet jewellery as a keepsake.
In the afternoon many of us gathered back by the harbour, watching the boats and reflecting on a wonderful day. The journey home was full of chatter about everyone’s favourite moments.
We were thrilled with the feedback from our passengers, with many leaving reviews on Facebook and Google. Thank you to everyone who joined us on our first day trip of 2025.
